New Node Provider Proposals

Dear All,

After our proposals to join the network and to register a datacenter as sl1 have both successfully passed, we have now added a new proposal to create a node operator record. Please see our proposal here

https://dashboard.internetcomputer.org/proposal/124783

If you have any questions or require further information, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. Your support and votes to adopt the proposal would be greatly appreciated!

Best regards,

Hello all,

Our proposal to add nodes in Lithuania was accepted earlier today, however, for some reason failed to execute. We are not sure why but have been asked to resubmit the proposal. Link to the proposal is below. Thanks in advance for your support

George

Hi all,

Thank you for supporting Conic Venturesā€™ node provider proposal! As our next step we just submitted a proposal to add two Latitude.sh data centers in London and Sydney.

The proposal sent to the NNS can be found here: https://dashboard.internetcomputer.org/proposal/124810

NOTE: The original proposal sent to the network (124809) had the incorrect region for the London node. Please reject this original proposal.

Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks again for your support.

Best,
Sebastian

Thank you for accepting my Node Provider proposal. I have submitted a proposal for a new data centre: Proposal: 124807 - ICP Dashboard. Proposal: 124807 - ICP Dashboard.

Best regards,
Johan.

Hello All,

I had to submit my proposal for a third time due to some technical issues. As I mentioned in a previous post the original proposal was approved but didnā€™t execute due to some technical issues. These have now been resolved and the link to the proposal is below.

Thanks in advance for your support

Kind regards,

George

Providers and stakeholders,

I have submitted proposal 124823 to add 2 nodes to a Hurricane Electric datacenter in California, US. This will compliment the existing successful deployment we are building in datacenter ny1 on the east coast. This is at the HE second datacenter, however since it is by the same company in the same city we chose the existing Fremont, CA datacenter. I suspect despite being one entry there are a mix nodes spread between the physical locations. Hopefully future DC proposals will have more accurate coordinates so we can ensure not all nodes in the same region end up in the same building

Iā€™m also hoping we wonā€™t run into the same issues as George has with his previous proposals.

Thank you for your support,

Cody

Hi Cody, @NoviSystems,

I checked the issue with the proposal from George, it had to do with using the same nodeoperator-id for two different data centers (Tblisi and Vilnius). Every data center should have a different nodeoperator-id. For the proposal 124823 the same nodeoperator-id as the existing ny2 data center is used, so this proposal will not get executed. Can you resubmit the proposal with a new nodeoperator-id?

In the meantime, I will update the onboarding wiki to be more clear on this.

Hi,

I am in process of submitting my proposal to apply for node provider in India and Bangladesh. Krishna Enterprises is from West Bengal area of India and initially intend to provide 10 - 15 nodes in India .

I have uploaded the documents Self Declaration and Proof of Identity on Wiki and also uploaded the zip file on my page Krishna Enterprises and is under approval.

My KE.zip file which is uploaded and is under approval have hash as :
3c7e429077f0ab5ead92c7a0ac84a6af

Link to Wiki is: File:Krishna Enterprises.pdf - Internet Computer Wiki

I have also submitted my intention to provide Nodes at Matrix.

I request if I may be apprised with link to submit proposal on internetcomputer.org

Also in case any specific advice to submit proposal and seek approval may be given.

Best Regards

Krishna Enterprises.

This is good to know and I see itā€™s been updated on the Wiki, hopefully this will prevent others from following in our missteps

I have since generated a new operator ID and resubmitted the proposal with ID 124866.

Hi SvenF
We are trying to set up nodes now.
Before that we want to run some nodes for testing to ensure the details in the process.
Currently it is Gen-2 node, right?
Should we refer to below link?
https://wiki.internetcomputer.org/wiki/Node_Deployment_Guide

And any more kind reminder for the next node setup for us?
Sorry I cannot get a timely feedback in ICP community of Element so that I have to post it here.

Thanks, Lisa

hi @Lisa_Crato,
The currently used specification for Node Hardware is indeed Gen-2. You can find the specifications here: Node Provider Machine Hardware Guide - Internet Computer Wiki. They include specific hardware configuration that are validated by either the Dfinity team or any of the other node providers. Based on these Gen-2 specs you can indeed use the Node_Deployment_Guide from the wiki.
Hope this helps.

Thanks Svenf
The information here and confirmation on Element are helpful.
One more quick quesiton: I noticed that there is also Gen-2.3 Generic specification in wiki.
Can I use a second-hand machine with such conig to test the whole process first?
Or I have to puchase the new one immediately so that it can be deployed sucessfully?

Lisa

Hi @Lisa_Crato Gen 2 and Gen2.3 is the same, agree that the terminology might be somewhat confusing. You can use a new or second-hand machine as long as it conforms the general specification, but since if it is not a validate configuration there is always a risk that you encounter hardware specific issues that you might need to resolve.

Thanks SvenF
Got that.
Gen2 is ā€œsaferā€ than Gen2.3 to run IC node since it has been validated by Difinity or community.

Hi @Lisa_Crato, I meant Gen2 and Gen2.3 is actually the same; itā€™s just safer to use a pre-validated configuration, whether second hand or new.

Clear!
Thanks for your helpful suggesiotn, SvenF

I was during past few days working on proposals and in this process as suggested require ICP. In this process, I learned that ICP or any crypto is allowed to trade on exchanges in India but not allowed to transfer or withdraw to any other wallets till Indian regulations and guidelines permit so.

I request community if they can transfer me non refundable ICP, so as I may raise proposal.

@SvenF seek your guidance in this matter.

Hello community,
I seek your support as I am not able to have ICP transferor or withdrawal as itā€™s only allowed to trade ( buy or sell ) on Indian Exchanges. Request if community may help to transfer few ICP to raise the proposal. @SvenF may advise suitably please.

Hello everyone,

I have submitted proposal 125047 to remove orphaned nodes from the registry. I had to change my Internet Service Provider in the sc1 data centre and I am now using a different IPv6 range. I re-onboarded 3 of my 6 nodes but these nodes needs to be removed before I can continue with the installation of the other 3 nodes.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Kind regards
Lerak
