I personally think that’s a great idea @timk11, there’s a need to make this process more stringent. There will always be gaps in the net, but they should be made as small as possible.
Similarly, I think the fact that so few NP are willing to discuss how they aquired their nodes is extremely suspicious. This indicates how easy it would be for bad actors to grow lopsided influence over the network over time.
I’d expect invoices and detailed transfer agreement documentation to be included in these formal checks. It looks like @SvenF was of the same opinion before he left.
My question is why do reviewers have to wait before requiring this now. We each vote according to our own convictions about what is important, and what is needed to do a good job.
I’d like to see each reviewer set their own sensible standard and stick to it, rather than asking DFINITY to give them permission to cast reviews a certain way.
I think NA + PM reviewers are currently doing the best job they can, but I think the rule book they’re playing by needs chucking out.
