Neuron lockup and voting

ETH ethereum was centralized when TheDAO hack happened (ETC is the original chain) like I said it takes time to create moat

Again Etherium doesn’t have Dfinity’s voting system.

Dfinity needs a better way of allowing developers, the users of the product to vote. Not the low skilled miners or the rich.

I would get rid of using tokens as a voting system entirely. Let both developers and miners have equal voting power from day one, experiment to see if such a democratic system even works and go from there.

The only thing Dfinity is proving in the next couple of years is that a centralised system works.

You can always wait and fork like zcash and zclassic later and see what the markets value, I sincerely think your a paid shill from another project but who knows maybe you’re new (he even mentioned mining must be a paid shill from cardano)

Nope definitely not. Just a senior software engineer trying to understand the crypto game behind all the various whitepapers and promises.

Let’s say we have stake X icp now on 12th May and set a dissolve delay of a year.

When should we start to click on “Start unlock” beside the “Increase Dissolve Delay” button? It seems the “Start unlock” button is either disabled or not responsive…

Still confuse on the unstake …

In my understanding, If you want get the X icp(itself) a year letter, you should click on “Start unlock” now, and I’m not very sure.

It’s not disabled:

Hm, @flyq mine doesn’t look like that, do I need to click Disburse button (in place of your start unlock button), to actually start staking? Thanks!

OK, I see now, I need to increase dissolve delay as I didn’t set it on previous page.

Disburse means that your neuron either has no dissolve delay set, or has a dissolve delay set before, but it has been unlocked and has been dissolved for enough time.

Now, if you want get the ICP staked in the neuron, click on Disburse. if you want to set dissolve delay to vote for profit, click on Increase Dissolve Delay.

I stacked ICP into neurons for few days now, but no voting happend in between 12 May and now? I don’t see any proposals?

I haven’t seen any proposals either. Seems like proposals and voting should be occurring.

I have a question: I hit “unlock” on my neuron to see if that would allow me to dissolve my neuron and access it ASAP so I can add more ICP – I was having trouble adding (under 1) ICP to my neuron. My neuron is less than 24 hours old so its not a huge deal, but did my neuron’s age reset the moment I hit unlock?

I re-locked immediately.

Since I hit unlock, will the 1 vote I participated in have no effect in maturing my neuron? Will I still receive reward for my 1 vote before I unlocked?

Thank u

I don’t know if this is useful info, but I have unlocked my neuron after some days. The maturity didn’t change, but I lost some voting power. I guess I went back to my initial voting power when I first locked it.
