Need of a dedicated subnet

Hello all, I wonder if there is a way for us to set up a dedicated subnet in ICP for application-specific purpose such as POS payment?

We don’t need the subnet to be isolated from other subnets, but we want to control who can add canisters to it thus control the overall traffic and performance of the subnet.

Hi @w3tester ,

depending on the exact use cases there are a few different options for what you could consider.
I am assuming here that you would like to use something on (public) ICP.

  1. If you need a full subnet, there is the subnet rental feature (see eg., here
    or here
    ). This is not fully implemented yet, but we just started picking up work again on the next stage.
  2. If you just want to make sure you have sufficient capacity, there are some options to make reservations for storage etc.

If you maybe share what are the important factors for you, I can try to bring in someone who knows these features in more detail and can advise more in depth?
