Hello ICP Community,
Ahead of our SNS on ICP, we have decided to open source DoxaUSD under a newly established, custom Community Source License designed specifically to balance developer freedom with ecosystem protection.
As we prepare for full decentralization through our upcoming Service Nervous System (SNS) launch, transparency is our top priority. We want the community to be able to fully audit, review, and build alongside the DoxaUSD multi-stablecoin protocol architecture.
To achieve this while safeguarding the protocol’s long-term value for our future DAO participants, we have introduced a custom hybrid license to the DoxaFoundation/doxa-v3 repository.
-
Ecosystem-Locked (DFINITY/ICP Alignment): The DoxaUSD smart contracts, minting mechanics, and multi-stablecoin logic are explicitly bound to the Internet Computer platform. The license mandates that any deployment, modification, or derivative project run strictly on the IC public mainnet, keeping the value generated by this codebase firmly rooted within the IC network.
-
Non-Commercial Scaling Limits: To foster organic growth, the code is entirely open and free for personal use, research, educational pursuits, and hobby projects. Independent developers can freely fork and run the architecture up to a scale of 1,000 monthly active unique transacting addresses (MAU). Scaling a deployment past this 1,000 MAU threshold requires a separate commercial agreement with the Doxa Foundation (and eventually, the governing SNS DAO).
-
Trademark Integrity: The license enforces strict protections over the Doxa brand name, logos, and service marks to eliminate user confusion and prevent bad actors from launching deceptive copycat platforms.
By pursuing a source-available community setup, we ensure that our codebase remains completely visible and verifiable to genuine ecosystem builders, while actively preventing extractive projects from cloning our architecture onto competing networks.
The repository is officially updated. You can review the codebase, test scripts, and the complete license terms directly on GitHub. We welcome your technical feedback, code reviews, and contributions as we move closer to our SNS initialization.
