Introducing OnChain Trips – A fully on-chain travel platform built 100% on ICP (seeking community feedback & opportunity to present at the next ICP Anniversary)

Hi everyone! :waving_hand:

My name is Oscar, and I’ve been an ICP supporter since the very beginning — my Internet Identity was created in June 2021, and I’ve been building on the Internet Computer using Rust for the last two years.

Today I’d like to introduce something I’ve been working on quietly for months:

OnChain Trips – a travel management platform built 100% on ICP.

https://www.onchaintrips.com

What makes this project unique?

100% on-chain architecture

No AWS, no servers, no off-chain components. Every trip, expense, member, gallery image, lodging, and interaction is stored and executed directly on ICP canisters.

Designed to scale without limits

The architecture is built to support

  • millions of users,

  • billions of trips, and

  • heavy concurrent usage without relying on any traditional cloud infrastructure.

Powered by core ICP technology

  • Internet Identity for secure authentication

  • Two native tokens:

    • OCTR – the long-term ecosystem token

    • UOCTR – the in-app utility token used for actions, rewards, and premium functionality

Ultra low-cost vs AWS

ICP allows me to run a global, fully decentralized, data-heavy application at a fraction of what it would cost to run it on AWS. The architecture is designed for long-term sustainability with predictable and extremely low operating costs.

Useful even during a crypto winter

This is not a speculative or market-dependent tool. People travel regardless of market cycles, so OnChain Trips is built to be useful even in a crypto winter. It has real utility and solves real problems for groups and travelers.

Built without Caffeine AI

Although Caffeine AI is incredibly powerful and promising, for this project I wanted to ensure that every technical aspect was built by hand, with full control over architecture, scalability, and canister interactions. I wanted a foundation with zero technical limitations for future evolution.

Roadmap

The project already includes a long-term public roadmap with features planned into early 2028: https://www.onchaintrips.com/roadmap

I would love the opportunity to present OnChain Trips at the next ICP Anniversary

The project is entirely built on ICP and showcases several capabilities that, in my opinion, represent the true potential of the Internet Computer.

If the community is open to it, I’d be very happy to prepare a full demo and present the architecture, challenges, and lessons learned during the next ICP Anniversary event.

Would love your feedback

If you have a moment, I’d really appreciate it if you could take a look, share your thoughts, or point me in the right direction to connect with the right people inside DFINITY or ICP Hubs.
