We built an Infinite Cat Protocol on the Internet Computer Protocol. It was destiny.
Upload a photo of your cat. Name it. Mint it as an NFT. It gets a sequential number and lives on-chain forever. The homepage is an ever-growing gallery of every cat ever minted.
Cat #0000 is the genesis cat. No cap on the counter - the cats are infinite.
You own your cat:
When you mint, that NFT is yours. It’s tied to your Internet Identity principal - you are the on-chain owner. The cat shows up in the gallery for everyone to see, but only you can transfer or sell it. Because the NFTs are fully ICRC-7 compliant, they work with any ICP marketplace or wallet that supports the standard. You can hold it forever or trade it - your cat, your call.
The basics:
Cat images stored as raw bytes in a canister. Actual on-chain storage served over HTTP.
ICRC-7 compliant NFTs, tradeable on ICP marketplaces.
Mint with ICP, ckBTC, ckETH, ckUSDC, or ckUSDT. ~$10 per mint. (use my beta code below for free)
Active community members may be invited to join the Cat Council — a small group that helps shape the direction of the protocol. Seats are assigned, not automatic. Show up, contribute, and you might get a tap on the shoulder. We also run AI assisted moderation on the uploaded files for security reasons.
Hi Michael
Nice initiative, I definitely want my cat to lieve on ICP forever
I am happy to serve on the cat council (especially if it helps accelerating the approval of my cat)
I see your cat in the approval line. I do need to fix a quick bug and we will get it approved! You have your spot saved. The Cat Council grows! I will be in touch!
Anyone who has submitted a cat please feel free to do so again. We cleaned out some bugs and the approval pipeline should be working. Remember, Cats only! We have had some other species try and sneak in lol
I found the issue. My image was a .png and it looks like the protocol only accepts .jpg. i would recommend making sure the file upload filters for .jpg, or accept other types of images to reduce friction.
Love the idea. I could imagine this going viral. I don’t know why but I’m very driven to immortalise my cats.
Every single cat image is stored as raw bytes inside a canister on the Internet Computer. Served directly over HTTP from the blockchain itself.
Your cat photo is theoretically immutable, tamper-proof, censorship-proof, and permanent. No one can alter it. No one can take it down. No corporation, no government, no rug-pulling founder (the cat council ensures this). The image exists in decentralized canister memory across the ICP subnet — it would take the entire network going dark to erase it.
Your cat’s photo will outlast the server your bank runs on.
You don’t have to sell it to me, I already get it. Great idea! Internet + Cats (forever). Match made in heaven. People will get this (I’m just suggesting addressing a friction point to help it take off)
