IC needs to promote and expand its user base

IC needs to promote and expand its user base.
Any project requires capital attention and investment before stable profitability can be achieved. The seed round investment of ICP is the same. IC wants to win through technology, which is understandable, but it is not appropriate to underestimate marketing and user expansion. It should be noted that IC also developed through financing. The money spent on IC development (including the sale of ICP obtained by ICP node merchants and the sale of pledged interest) should have exceed the total financing since its establishment? Money come from new investors though by saling ICP. In extreme cases, without new capital inflows, the sale of these ICPs will inevitably lead to a decline in ICP prices. Because ICP is not profitable, there will be no deflation. Therefore, it is necessary to promote and expand users, which not only allows the IC’s ecosystem to gain users and achieve profitability, but also enables the acquisition of more users and attract more powerful project teams. This is the way to achieve a virtuous cycle.
Everyone knows that many DAPPs go out to public chains such as SOL, because unlike other public chains, users have difficulty on learning IC.IC accumulates users very slowly, which cannot help DAPPs. So this has also become a weakness for ICs.
And now is the time for IC to develop its users. Unlike MEME coins, which can be deployed in a very short period of time, the development of applications on ICs takes about 3 years to reach a certain level. Since the launch of ICs, many DAPPs have just begun to mature, and ICs and DAPPs can mutually promote each other. It is time for ICs to change this situation.
So I have three key suggestions that I hope everyone will pay attention to, understand, and give the thumbs-up. Besides technology, other success factors of IC can also be valued and improved.

I agree victoriia. Web 3 shouldn’t just be for investors and devs/techies. That’s how ICP feels now. ICP is in prime position to bring in a lot of web 2 people, including the non-technical crowd, given the wide range of applications that it can host.

What I keep preaching is that we need more products that would bring in the masses, like a YouTube dapp and Caffeine.Ai. I keep hearing these things are in the works, but hopefully Dfinity will get more aggressive on releasing them for use.

I agree that we should expand our audience and not just focus on a few people.

The technology of IC is the most complex, fundamental, and constantly evolving. Nowadays, it relies entirely on selling ICP to finance development. All investors holding ICP, especially those who do not pledge, are important providers of funds for IC development. The question is, what if the foundation sells out its coins? So the benign development is that the foundation should invest, pledge returns, and use the returns to support the development of ICs. So it is important to develop manuals, strengthen fund management functions, enhance communication functions, hold event promotions, etc. This is also a way to repay ICP investors and bring more customers for IC to open DAPP developers.Attracting more investors and increasing prices through ICP undoubtedly benefits a virtuous cycle

That’s very true, I think part of the expansion should be through engaging with emerging markets. We have had over 100 young devs interested in the protocol last month, but we were only able to teach-onboard 7 of them: that’s only one example from one emerging market where ICP has no presence whatsoever.

No matter how good the technology is, users are the foundation. IC can still issue MEM coins - this is the air coin. But why does TRUMP have to go to SOL to send it? Because there are many users there. One person trying a little bit is a huge amount, even the best technology needs to open up the market and require users to use it. So my suggestions, please consider them officially and think about them.

To grow the user base, we need useful applications that solve real problems. OpenChat, Waterneuron, and Kong are leading examples.
