Dear all, please take note on the following two updates regarding the SNS topics feature:

1. PSA(SNS): Proposal criticality to be defined based on proposal topics
2. Action required: Please assign topics for your custom SNS proposals

It seems like this new proposal type called SetTopicsForCustomProposals should also be critical. Is that a correct assumption? I am imagining that these custom proposal types could be in control of a treasury or a neuron, so defining the criticality of the proposal type seems pretty important.

Please take note of this proposal for new SNS neuron baskets :

Topic-based following for swap neuron baskets

TL;DR We propose a topic-based following set-up for the neuron baskets created for SNS swap participants at launch. In one basket, the neuron with the largest dissolve delay does not have any following set (this would remain unchanged) is followed by all other neurons on all topics (currently, it is followed by all other neurons on all non-critical proposals) This discussion does not change anything for SNSs that are already launched. Action required: Please assign topics for your custom SNS proposals

With https://dashboard.internetcomputer.org/proposal/136373 being adopted, it becomes no longer possible to submit an SNS proposal without first assigning it to a topic.

The 3rd milestone is now completed. SNS Topics are live!

This has been enabled with https://dashboard.internetcomputer.org/proposal/136473 being adopted late last week.

Soon, DFINITY will propose to disable adding legacy (type-based) following.

Existing legacy following will keep working. SNS users are encouraged to use the NNS dapp’s improved UI to set up topic-based following.
