Hi all,
here a small update on where we are on the release plan.

With the adoption of this proposal, NNS governance contains all the changes planned for this time in the release schedule.

This means in particular that:

  • Each neuron now has a timestamp voting_power_refreshed_timestamp_seconds that is set to Sep 1st 2024
  • Users can already reset the timer of their neuron and achieve that it lasts again 6 months until the neuron would have adjusted voting power.
    • On the NNS dapp, users can do so by voting directly or by setting following for a particular neuron.
    • As soon as a frontend supports this, users can also use the refresh_voting_power API to refresh a neuron’s timer.
  • Developers of integrations should have everything they need to build their end
    • The new nervous system parameters are there and can be set by proposal
    • All API changes are merged

Does quill support the ability to reset the timer, or will that take some additional time to develop?

Like the other frontends this is under work and should be ready by the time we turn on the feature early next year.

I have another question.
Does the front end dapp show the current timestamp for voting power refreshed? I am looking for it and not finding it, but something made me think it was visible there or in the dashboard somewhere.

You remember correctly. It will be there, but the frontend part is still under development. You can expect to see it in the neuron next year when the feature will be turned on!
