Introducing IDgeek - Identity Anchor Marketplace

Guys don’t waste your time responding to him. He’s just trolling and attacking projects he doesn’t like. Keep building! Your actions speak louder than his words.

Thanks @alexander, I agree with you. Different users have different contexts, risk profiles, and requirements, and will see value in different things. I think we should be able to agree that at least three things are black and white though:

  • For an exchange to be fair and equitable, a buyer (or lender) should be able see what they’re getting (either as a purchase, or as compensation in the form of collateral). They’re being sold permissions for a neuron, which may not be the full set (or any for that matter).
  • Attempting an incomplete SNS neuron transfer (where some of the permissions are permanently lost) is undesirable for both the buyer and seller.
  • It would be sensible to include a section about risks and danger in the FAQs

Have you considered tackling this problem differently to avoid these dangers? For example, SNS neurons that become untransferable while they’re locked in escrow could perhaps be traded by transferring the escrow II that they’re attached to (allowing the full set of permissions to be left intact). From what I can tell, each escrow SNS neuron is attached to their own dedicated principal. Is that correct?

As a side note, this is not trolling. It’s intended as due diligence and information sharing, along with constructive criticism.

Thank you for your feedback and suggestions. It’s not as black and white as it might seem, though. As you pointed out, there are factors beyond the platform’s control, so it’s ultimately up to users to do their own research and decide whether they’re comfortable taking on those risks. Even a neuron with incomplete permissions can still have value and may appeal to certain buyers — the market will naturally adjust by applying the appropriate discounts. We don’t want to limit the market based on what some might consider undesirable. That said, we completely agree that these details need to be better communicated, and we’re already working on making everything clearer and more transparent for everyone.

If you decide to list your staked neurons on idGeek marketplace do the proceeds of the sale go to the wallet you logged in with? Is it safe to use since you have to remove your recovery phrase in order to transfer your internet identity so that it can be sold?

Hello, I believe my colleague has already responded to your question on OpenChat. If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask here or on any of our social media channels.

We have our Internet Identity with our staked ICP neurons on sale on the idGeek website, I created a new NFID wallet so that I could log into the site and it has been working fine. About the past 3 days when I try to login using my NFID wallet as usual it allows me to get all the way through the verification and when I click continue it just cycles through the different logos and does not log me in as it should. We have an offer waiting on our Internet Identity with the staked neurons so we need to be able to get into the website to accept it.
