I’m going to respond to these 4 to keep things focused and try to parse out the 2AM post later.
There is the old way and the new way. The new way may get released today…running some final audits and tests. You’ll control the principal of the ICP and you assign the maturity and votes to ICDevs(I can look at potentially changing the vote permission to a hot key when I get back from vacation next week, but I figured people didn’t really care. The old way may still work but it is a pain in the ass to set up as DFINITY took the manage neuron permission off the NNS UI five years ago and never put it back, thus eliminating simple contribute pathways for YEARS until they allowed canister to hold neurons. I can still walk you through setting it up if you want more control over the neuron and to just have ICDevs harvest the maturity…but I think the new way will be better.
Look toward what comes out after the 22nd for this. It will make things like this easier…or at least give you more freedom…and yes a framework makes sense.
You can do this now! Jut go to ICDevs.org…click donate at the top, connect your wallet and start a subscription. You can donate any token. Fund the account and the sub will run for 30 years, or you can cancel it at the subscription utility provided https://lhw23-vyaaa-aaaam-ahiwa-cai.icp0.io/ . Make sure you use plug to be compatible across services. Fund the account with the most you’d want to donate over time and it will ‘just work’. Cancel when we piss you off of the education becomes non-satisfactory.

At the risk of sounding like a negligent neuron holder… I’ll be honest and say I want it to look like:
1.) I set it up for what works and donating etc. I’ll dig into it.
2.) You control the whole “Theatrical Performance” I’m not competent enough to deliver on.
3.) I clicky clicky the button never knowing if we are “violated”, and knowing you got it under control.
If possible I’d the maturity go right to you.
What that looks like right now I’m not sure. I do want to make sure I understand it right, and the process ICDevs goes through when receiving donations, and what it looks like to receive this type of “write off”.
Should I (or future family) be able to use this as an effective write off lowering our ever growing tax bill will also providing you the VP/ donations then I’ll want to discuss that with my advisor.
I may want to know if saving annually and donating at once, or just letting you eat the maturity as daily / weekly rewards makes any difference.

I have some work on my end to make this happen clearly so I’ll do that in the mean time.
A post outlining how you intend to handle voting would help with my research efforts once you’re back from vacation. Even if it’s as simple as a script you run yourself, a script you’d like your followers to use, or both.
I’m still working through how I plan to handle maturity. I’ll send those questions separately by email.
I just think a post explaining your intentions and voting habits would be useful from a due diligence perspective.
To be clear, I won’t particularly care if rewards are reduced further. At that point, they would essentially be your rewards that you’d be missing out on if voting isn’t handled effectively and I don’t end up adjusting my setup to align with whatever approach you intend to use to maximize the value of my neuron.
Again, if optimizing for voting rewards isn’t something you care about, that’s completely fine. I’m just a bit confused about how it will work in practice.
Also, all of my neurons are managed through the front end. I don’t plan on hotkeying anything because I don’t want another device permanently occupying space in my life unless I’m making selective changes myself.
Most of that is covered at ICDevs Guiding Principles as far as how we’d vote that diverges from Dfinity. We also have our neuron pointed at https://nmiv5-haaaa-aaaam-abgaa-cai.raw.ic0.app/ which is the eventually reject canister that votes within the last 6 hours if no action is taken. In the next couple
Weeks we will also launch a network agitant that attempts to harvest excess “rent” in the governance space and target some of that at public goods. Maybe we’ll follow that to give it a boost…I haven’t decided yet.

I’d really just like to make sure you’re aware that my rewards will be given to ICDevs., as well as my voting power.
I’m not lying, spamming, or trying to hype this. I want this to move into an 88 year position that goes towards the initiatives you are pursuing.
I think annually you might get 100 ICP from my neuron. I wish it was more, however, I am not here, nor did I invest for the typical reason (although I did explore it (& failed) throughout my time here).
The network has a long way to go if it ever can achieve what I hoped for, as do I, and humanity in general…
So, if you want to maximize how much my neuron produces then all I ask is to keep me informed email, or here (unless removed).
I’ll switch to what you mentioned there. Then I will figure out rewards.
I could hypothetically point / follow the neuron then this time next year I could resurface from my basement to donate.
