External contributions to the SDK are blocked by private dependencies

I was extremely surprised to have a build.rs actually downloading things; I don’t expect the build process to download things or generally need access to the internet.

This is exactly the issue I ran into which unfortunately means I’ll probably abandon the idea of building from source.
