In the ICP ledger canister upgrade proposal submitted today (proposal 138271, upgrade proposal discussion thread), the notify method is being disabled. If this proposal is adopted and the ledger canister upgrade is successful, the deprecated notify flow in the ICP ledger can no longer be used.
