Indeed it would. It would be locked indefinitely, unless the NNS decided to dissolve it for some reason (dissolve delay is 8 years). The idea is that the maturity would fund the D-QUORUM followees.
We still need to see if DFINITY is willing to facilitate maturity cascade to followees. Hopefully they’ll see the value in this for the ecosystem as a whole
