Quill — where AI ships. The home for everything your AI builds, live on the Internet Computer. [runonquill.com](http://runonquill.com) ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ WHAT IT IS Quill is a hosting platform that gives AI agents and LLMs (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or any standalone harness) a real place to build, deploy, and run what they create. Websites, backends, static sites, agent logic — everything lands as a real canister on the Internet Computer, owned by you. THE FLOW Agents ask. You approve. Everything executes on-chain. Every agent action arrives as a signed request and sits pending until you accept it. Nothing runs without you. Requests include: • CreateCanister — spin up a new canister in your project • TopUpCanister — fund a canister with cycles • InstallCode — install / reinstall / upgrade canister code • StartCanister / StopCanister — control the lifecycle • SetControllers — change who controls a canister • AddController / ApproveIcp — grant rights and approve ICP spending Requests expire after 7 days, dedupe on-chain, and every resolution is written to an audit trail you can replay. TWO WAYS TO PLUG YOUR AI IN 1. Chatbots (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor) — via MCP ([mcp.internetcomputer.org](http://mcp.internetcomputer.org)). The tool signs in with your Internet Identity and acts as you: your principal is derived from the app origin, so there is no agent registration. You approve the backend (icrc2\_approve), then the tool calls createCanister / topUpCanister as you. 2. Standalone harnesses — your own agent with its own principal. It reports its principal ID, you register it with permissions and an ICP spend limit, and approve it once. From then on it calls openDeposit + createCanisterAsAgent / topUpCanisterAsAgent and becomes co-controller of the canisters it creates. Limits are enforced on-chain; revoke anytime. CANISTER ECONOMICS • Every canister arrives with 2.5T cycles minimum (≈ 6 years of idle uptime), on-chain, forever. • 0.5T of that covers the subnet canister-creation fee. • Funding is ICP: the backend converts your ICP to cycles in-canister via the CMC notify\_top\_up flow (caller-subaccount pattern), so the conversion is atomic with canister creation. • Protocol fee is dynamic (default 250 bps, visible in the UI before you approve anything). WHO OWNS WHAT You do. Every canister is created with you and your agent as controllers. Your wallet, your canisters, your keys. No lock-in: stop any agent, raise or lower its spend limit, or revoke it entirely — the platform is a home, not a landlord. Finally, you are the first one who actually made clear instructions how we can build, deploy + own what we build. I have not looked about how much cycles it consumes, but looks good for now. It cost only 3.41 ICP to make 2 canisters with both 2.5T cycles and Deepseek cost 1.07 USD, 24mil tokens spent so freaking cheap. I did use Deepseek 4 pro, i think 4.1 Flash should be 2x cheaper. Deepseek v4 flash is the way to go. Its way cheaper than pro and still capable enough. Its like opus 4.8 level ---

There is something wrong with top up, when i asked AI to top up my canister, it took 1.5 ICP and only added 0.1T cycles. Something wrong with topping up canisters too in built app, many errors. But i managed to build token launcher, can make tokens, only issue is that ICP used to top up canister goes poof and no cycles added. Need to fix that, NB building cost lot less than losing ICP to bugs. Here the test token canister: wlr2h-viaaa-aaaab-qhiaq-cai Nice, it got fixed, this setup is lot better than Caffeine built. Builds better, fixes code itself, tests itself and is super cheap. ---

Thanks for the report — “ICP used to top up canister goes poof and no cycles added.” You were right, and we found exactly what was eating your ICP. WHAT YOU HIT (two real bugs) 1. Agent top-ups were silently capped at 100 billion cycles (0.1T). 2. The built-app (user) top-up sent ICP to the wrong CMC account and swallowed the error. WHAT WE FIXED - Both top-up flows now convert at the live CMC rate and deliver EVERY minted cycle to your canister. No cap, no leftovers. - The user flow now uses the correct CMC subaccount + memo, and conversion failures surface as real errors instead of fake success. - A proper Top-up flow was added to the canister page in the app: amount + presets, a live “you get X cycles” quote, the cost breakdown, your balance with a warning when short, and one-tap “Approve & top up”. - Agent instructions updated: agents now transfer the exact amount plus a 0.0002 ICP buffer for ledger fees, and abandoned deposits can be refunded with refundDeposit(depositId). ---

Fees for now is token creation platform fee 1 ICP + about 0.65ICP for 1T cycles. Linked canisters top up fee is 10%. Cool stuff is can top up to 25 canisters with single click, but than need to wait for it to finish, little slow, but hey, no need to click like crazy. Made tokens can be made public (open up to icp dashboard to see canister calls), mint tokens, change controller, change logo, blackhole controller. ---

I do wonder why Dfinity didnt build something like this and didnt had great building videos. Can bring Caffeine made apps and deploy with Quill. Caffeine has so many limitations, with Quill+OpenCode+Deepseek, we can build whatever we want. Example a bomberman that now has 3 canisters, not sure what third actually does, but people can log in, put tokens to reward pool. If any player clears 1 round, there is 10% chanse to get reward in crypto (single player only). Added 2 test tokens what are not on dex + small amount of ICP. Cool stuff is that if canister cycle amount drops below 2T, no more Super Loot is given out, users need to top up to reactivate it. Cycles can be topped up in bomberman game. I’m really intrigued. The slogan & offer are a little confusing for me though. You say Quill hosts my AI-built canister apps, and that if Quill disappears tomorrow then my canister apps will be unaffected? My apps don’t need a host? There might be a better word than host if the above is true. More of a launchpad, or canister building tool Will certainly check this out. I’m very intrigued!! ---

I say Quill hosts the Application your AI builds. ‘Host’ is the easiest term, so people can understand. Yes, your applications don’t need a traditional host, they are ‘hosted’(actually, what happens is the code and logic are lowered to WA and placed in a canister to serve functions and requests) on canisters via quill ---

Questioon Sir! Is it AI issue that it mixes projects up and overwrites other projects as it is confused what project its working on. Or its Quill own issue. I think Deepseek messed up, but it should remember what and where things are located. Im no computer scientist, but how did my caffeine bomberman what was 3.57mb zipped turned into 1.25gb project folder. Even token ledger folder went from 3.76mb to 1.36gb. ---

Are you talking about the size of the file/folder in you machine or on the canister. If on the machine then its mostly reproducible modules files and folders like node modules. And also you have to steer your agent towards what project it should use, and if to create new canisters or overwrite already available ones ---

My bad, i was thinking that AI had a brain, but noup. It used same folder for 2 projects, third it at least made new folder. 1 question, im nob, in Quill, it shows canister controller me and i can add controllers. I made app, there i made token, but it dont let me be controller alone, need to have app there too. So how Quill can approve change controllers of canister if its not a controller.
