Introducing DYVR EXPLORATION | Deploy explorers. Burn cycles. Discover artifacts

DYVR EXPLORATION

dyvr exploration is a decentralized exploration game built natively on the internet computer (ICP).

play.dyvr.me

players deploy and manage on-chain canister smart contracts that actively explore the network topology, discover digital artifacts, and earn $DEEP token rewards.

dyvr.me/info

dyvr utilizes three distinct canister smart contracts operating seamlessly across the internet computer:

explorer canisters: deployed directly by players. these run exploration logic, manage burn rates, track discoveries, and hold earned tokens.

coordinator canister: a single global canister managed by the protocol that tracks all active explorers, resolves discovery conflicts, and maintains the global ledger via verifiable random functions (VRF).

token ledger canister: the core financial engine managing the $DEEP token, minting rewards, and facilitating transactions.

How the DYVR economy actually works

Every time your Explorer Canister discovers an artifact, new $DEEP is minted instantly on-chain.

The reward split is hardcoded:

• 80% → Player
• 12% → Ecosystem Treasury
• 8% → Burned Forever

Not all discoveries are equal.

Common (80%) → 1× reward
Rare (15%) → 5× reward
Legendary (5%) → 15× reward

You control your discovery odds through Burn Rate.

Low Burn → 1× weight
Medium → 4× weight
High → 16× weight
Max → 64× weight

Higher burn rates consume more cycles but dramatically increase your chance of discovering artifacts.

The economy is also self-balancing.

Every 48 hours, DYVR measures network activity and automatically adjusts base rewards:

• High activity → Rewards tighten
• Stable activity → No change
• Low activity → Rewards increase

Activity is measured using a weighted formula:

70% Explorer Activity
30% Unique Players

This means rewards adapt to real network participation, not just canister count.

More risk = more reward.

More exploration = more discoveries.

Less activity = higher incentives.

A living exploration economy built natively on ICP.

cant deploy, it gives an error that the canister needs more cycles

CAnister creation failed, cannot grow memory by 12288 bytes due to insufficient cycles. At least 25_929_418_020 additional cycles are required.

Topped up some cycles, try agin now, let me know if it throws any more errors

Same error, It also says See documentation: execution errors#insufficient cycles in memory grow

Try now. Its a cycles thing and i topped up more this time. If it says the same error. Do let me kbow how many cycles it says

It works now

Confirmed

this is what it said last time. works for now. Just out of curiosity and it won’t change my stance on the project anyway, are you a new entrant to the icp eco or just an old guy on an anon acc?

ive been on the ic, im not an anon, check my x - earporter

Im just new to the forum

also since it’s just two canisters in the whole galaxy thingie, how come one is getting like 90% of all discoveries? I got mine set on max

The settings is a bit finickey on the frontend, you’ll have to tap it (click the max )multiple times and refresh the page to confirm

Im working on a fix for that

cool stuff. also, is the ‘galaxy’ tab just for visualizing purposes? cool gimmick.

also, what happens if you run out of cycles while people have canisters’ discovering’? do they just crash out or the whole thing pauses or?

Yes the galaxy is to visualize the explorers in clusters.

When an explorer cycles goea below a particular threshold (400b cycles), its auto set to dormant and wont explore anymore, and earn deep, because it cant explore unless its topped up

apologies for the rain of questions

is this just an experiment of yours or are you planning on maintaining it (i.e the piko miner thingie from last week is already unavailable afaik)

any plans for liq or are you just leaving that up to the community? perhaps a % of all cycles burned could go into a starting liq pool

I see the 1st explorer on the leaderboard has 85k finds, that’s a huge number. It says the current epoch is 18 with the deep reward at 0.44, what was the reward in the 1st epoch?

For the maintainance of the backend/controller canister. Its a very robust architecture and was prepped FULLY for scale and drought

For liquidity, yes a portion of the platform revenue is for adding / topping up liquidity

The first ever epoch rate was 10 deep/find, and each subsequent epoch rate that came was as a result of the activity of the epoch before it

Check the Dynamic Emission Rate (Epochs) section in dyvr.me/info info

given the project launched 3-4 months ago, isn’t the emission rate cut too sharp? the couple of early users are sitting on gigantic chunks of deep which makes it offputting for new entrants

A little History. I first started using heartbeats overly optimistic that the qdoption was going to be earth shattering, but as it slowed down, it became clear that i had to prwpare for the drougt, so i changed to timers and jit finction calls so the cycles can be preserved in drought but still functional in use.

I also implement shards , so when there are a lot of explorers, sub controllers can be spawned to manage them, as well as the deletion of stale explorers.

I added a lot of pagination and sharding in expectation of scale.

I also added fallbacks for errors i saw, and was yet to see

I also added queues for errors, minting, minting errors and errors of errors

I also added handling for if a sub contoller or co troller is paused, out of cycles , and resu,es, it continues cleanly

So im confident in it Maintainability

True, very true.

But because i changed some functions to JIT. a new epoch didnt start because there was no active canisters to request the JIT function and thereby bulk up the rate .

But now there are some, in the next 48 hours(thats the frequency of an epoch), the rate will be bulked

ping me when haha so I deploy some more canisters and actually earn meaningful amounts of deep :sob:

lol, but not withstanding. Because of the way the dynamic rate works, this could be a significant amount of deep/find still.
