I am exploring a small Internet Computer app idea for organizing crypto platform research notes. The goal is not to discuss trading, token prices, exchange promotion, or investment advice. I am mainly interested in the app architecture and data modeling side.

The idea is to let users store structured notes about different crypto platforms and compare them using the same research criteria. One example name in my test data is BYDFi, but the project is meant to be a general research-notes tool rather than anything platform-specific.

The fields I am thinking about include:

- platform name
- website domain
- supported markets
- product categories
- fee notes
- security notes
- withdrawal notes
- risk information
- regional availability
- user research comments
- last updated timestamp

For an ICP implementation, I am wondering how people would structure this kind of app.

Would it make sense to store the notes directly in a Motoko canister as stable data, or would you recommend a different pattern if the dataset may grow over time? I am also thinking about whether each user should have private notes tied to Internet Identity, or whether the app should support a public directory model with community-submitted entries.

A few specific questions:

- What data structure would you recommend for searchable research notes in Motoko?
- How would you handle upgrades if the schema changes later?
- Would Internet Identity be enough for user-owned private notes?
- Is there a good pattern for separating public entries from private user notes?
- For a small dashboard frontend, would you keep filtering client-side or query the canister with search parameters?

I would appreciate any suggestions from people who have built note-taking, directory, or research-style apps on ICP.
