We just posted an example for writing the counter canister directly in WebAssembly: [examples/wasm/counter at master · dfinity/examples · GitHub](https://github.com/dfinity/examples/tree/master/wasm/counter)

Hope it can be helpful for people writing CDKs or just want to understand how the system API works.
